YOU DON'T HAVE TO CHECK THE RUNOUT OF THE BLADE ARBOR. INSTEAD YOU WANT TO CHECK THE RUNOUT AT THE PLACE WHERE THE BLADE SETS ON THE ARBOR. THAT'S THE MAIN AREA ON THE ARBOR.

Thank you for a very helpful video. I am a young man in the Marine Corps and have taken an interest in wood working. Since I am stationed states away from my father and grandpa I have a very limited hands-on resources to guide me through various techniques. After watching the video I went and tuned up my table saw and was amazed at how accurate it. It also took out that nasty tapering I always got, which I always had to set my fence up a little skewed to minimize. I have now watched several of your podcast and each one is extremely useful. Your staff is very well versed and display very indepth knowledge on each topic. Thank you so much for passing on the knowledge and techniques.

Thank you for the video Woodsmith... Myk is correct, the audio on the instructional portion was noticeably lower than the intro and outro parts.

In addition to ShopNotes #77 and Woodsmith #158 mentioned above, additional information can be found in the following issues:

ShopNotes #10 page 12-14 - Squaring the Blade
ShopNotes #25 pages 6-9 - Table Saw Tune-Up
ShopNotes #68 page 32 - Using a dial indicator

I hope this helps

NOTE: In my opinion, if you want to keep everything tuned-up in the shop, you should check out these products http://www.ts-aligner.com. Quality stuff and Ed Bennett is a very helpful and knowledgeable guy.

Thanks to Vince and Woodsmith for a great job. This was by far the best info provided on tablesaw tune-ups.

Myk,

The sound seems normal to me. Maybe a little bit lower than usual, but that could be because Vince is pretty soft spoken.

Steve, The first article in the flyer is a 5-pager from ShopNotes No. 77, and there is also a 2-pager from Woodsmith No. 158. The flyer also includes a simple outline of the subject matter.

Why is the volume so low. I have to turn the speaker system up so high, it blasts when system sounds are made.
