An Homage to Thomas Moser: Building a Bed

Kenneth Owen of Tulsa, Oklahoma is proud of his wife. And he has every right to be. They were looking to outfit a new bedroom and fell in love with a Moser-style bed. So she decided to build one. That’s right — she did the milling and gluing and bending and clamping.  Everything.  And the results are outstanding.

Ken posted photos of the process of building this bed. You can read all about it over on WoodNet. It’s an amazing story of how the project was completed and Ken gives all the details of how his wife progressed from start to finish.

What a wonderful project!!
Your shop and equipment also looks great! I create with a bunch of “hand me downs” but manage to end up with some pretty nice things. I finished a crib for a son’s first born, then a queen Mission bed for my youngest son’s wedding. Then comes the wodden trains and doll beds as the grand kids come along and grow. Some day I plan to find time to make something for my wife and I!!
Thanks for the show! It is awesome!!
I’ve learned the hand rubbed oil finish process. It’s time intensive but the results are worth it.I refuse to use poly!
