Russ,

Podcast #8 and #9 have both been updated with the "new" versions. These versions do not have the glitch and will work on the iPod without a problem.

You'll have to delete the podcast from your computer (in iTunes) and then re-download them. Give it a shot and let me know if you have problems. Thanks.

Hi Everyone,

We recently determined that there was an error in our post-production process. That error was/is causing the problem that you are all experiencing. The videos will download and play on the computer, but will not sync to the iPod.

At this point, the error is limited to only podcasts #8 and #9 (Favorite Tips & Cabinet Making). Our video department has isolated the problem and is currently working (as we speak) to re-encode (or re-create) the podcasts so that they are in the proper iPod format.

As the podcasts are re-created by our video group, we will be putting them on our web servers and removing the erroneous versions. Actually, I just heard that #9 is done. I'm going to test it now and then post it. What you will need to do is delete the current (erroneous) versions of the podcasts (#8 and #9 only) from your computer (in iTunes) and then re-download the new version. #8 should also be done today and, if time permits, we'll put it up on the web today as well. Worst case, it will be updated on Monday (1-29-07).

Our apologies for the problems. Thank you all for letting us know about the issue. We appreciate it and please let us know if you have any more troubles.

All the best,

I too have had trouble with episode 8 & 9. I thought it was my machine and have done everything from redownloading 3x, adding and removing other podcasts from my ipod and just about to reformat ipod till I saw the comment from Russ above.

I have 30gb ipod 5.5G and use windows XP

Like Russ said, the series is terrific!

Hi.

I have been following your podcast series, and find it very informative and entertaining.

However, I have run into a problem with episodes 8 and 9. They seem to download to my PC fine, but will not upload to my video ipod. I did not have this problem with the prior episodes.

In the past with other podcasts, where this happened it was often as the result of the podcast not being saved/created in the correct format.

In fact, in order to get episode #8 to upload to my ipod I had to use the "convert to ipod command" in itunes. This will convert the file into a "movie" that can then be up loaded to ipod. It takes a long time for this process - over an hour on the PC.

Did you do anything differently in creating/editing episodes #8 or 9? Has anyone else experienced this issue.

Again, I think your series is terrific! Thank you for making it available.
